Lubricated inverted-plug valve
1 models in this family
The lubricated plug valve uses a pressure-balanced inverted tapered plug. Two balancing passages connect the chambers at the ends of the plug to reduce the risk of binding in the body. Shut-off relies on a precisely fitted metal-to-metal interface supported by a lubricant film; lubricant may be injected during operation or shutdown. The anti-blowout stem is separate from the plug, and plug position is adjustable. Applications include fluids containing suspended solids and, with a heating jacket, fluids that must be kept warm. Temperature capability depends on the lubricant, while operating torque and actuator selection depend on the service conditions.
